Vay-Kay

We've been unemployed for a week now. Loving it! Right now we're in Portland visiting various people. Last night we met up with a few other people going to Azerbaijan next month. It was great to meet other people who are feeling the same excitement and anxiety that we are. I think it's neat that there are so many Pacific Northwesterners in our group. It will be good to have some shared experiences with other volunteers.

Tomorrow we head down to Huntington Beach for a few days. I can't wait to go to Disneyland!!!

Aspiration Statement

We got to this a bit late, but it's done. From what I've read of other people's aspiration statements mine is a bit sparse, but we've already been accepted so really I'm just trying to give the country directors an idea of what I'm all about.

Here it is if you want to look over it: Jesse's Aspiration Statement

Packing, Packing, Packing....

So we are all moved out of our apartment and moved into the storage unit & garage. We still have to pack our stuff out of the garage and into the attic before we leave but it is pretty much organized into boxes. We have also started packing to go to Azerbaijan, putting some stuff into our luggage that will sit until we leave (snow boots and the like). However, we have made a list of stuff that we are taking over with us based upon the official list and the unofficial list made by RPCV.

Our list is here: Packing list.xls

and the other list is here: AZ Packing list.doc

Hopefully this helps anyone else who is trying to pack, especially married couples!
